D.C. Cheap Eats Visit #3 - Z-Burger

On my way to school today I stopped by the Z-Burger in Tenleytown for a quick lunch. I had a meal there once like a year ago and wasn’t that impressed the first time around. Alot of people in this area, however, really like this place and I figured it would be a good place to try again.
I ordered a single bacon cheeseburger with tomatoes and guacamole on top. Again, I failed to see what everyone raves about. The burger tasted good but I’m not really a fan of the slim chargrilled-type patties they use there. I prefer a thicker, juicier patty and the choice to have it cooked to my liking - the bloodier the better, ha. See BGR. I was also disappointed with the guacamole I paid an extra 75 cents for. They only added a less than impressive spread of it on the burger. The only thing I really liked was the bacon which was crispy and bountiful and kind of made up for the pedestrian burger it was topped on. Finally, the price for my burger and drink was $10 and I didn’t even order fries or the normal double patty burger! Needless to say I don’t plan on returning anytime soon unless someone else is paying.
