D.C. United: I'm All In This Season
I’m excited for D.C. United this upcoming season. Although they are rebuilding and coming off of a few horrible and uncharacteristic seasons in a row, I believe the club is finally headed in the right direction. I like the hiring of Ben Olsen as the manager and they have great young talent in Andy Najar, Chris Pontius, Dax McCarty, and draft pick Perry Kitchen.

Torres to Chelsea?
The possible transfer of Fernando Torres to Chelsea is starting to seem more likely by the day. Fox Soccer is reporting that Chelsea is going to up their offer and Liverpool are definitely listening. I wonder why Liverpool would decide to let him go now? I thought the whole point of signing Suarez was to keep him around and provide him with a strike partner of his caliber.
This could not be...

D.C. Cheap Eats Visit #1 - Taqueria Distrito...
Last night I visited Taqueria Distrito Federal for my first stop on my D.C. Cheap Eats tour and was not disappointed. I knew when I walked into the Columbia Heights restaurant that good food was being made there. Two servers greeted me with a menu and I saw two older Mexican ladies in the back cooking behind a service counter. The restaurant seating area just seemed like an extension of their...

America's #1 New Sandwich (and it's from D.C.!) →
renanborelli:
It takes some chutzpa to reinvent what Endless Simmer has already called the best drunk food in America, but chef Kyle Bailey is not afraid. Named for its alleged creator, Luther Vandross, the original Luther sandwich consists of a bacon cheeseburger wedged between two halves of a…

Westlaw > LexisNexis
Westlaw was down for a couple of hours earlier today and I was forced to use Lexis for a little while. I know this is a polarizing subject for law school students but I don’t understand why people prefer Lexis. One of the biggest advantages of Westlaw is the ability to download the actual reporter image. Also, in my opinion it is much faster and does not have all the unnecessary frills...

Justice Kagan's Recusal Issue Could Be Bigger Than...
I was taking Constitutional Law during Justice Kagan’s confirmation process and remember distinctly having a conversation with one of my classmates about Kagan’s recusal issue. Our discussion, however, was very broad and less novel as the one recently expressed by my Constitutional Law Professor Stephen Vladeck in a blog post titled “On Counting to Five (Without Justice...

I wanted to review our reading of District of Columbia v. Heller (2008) for Con Law and couldn’t help but think, Scalia, why do you contradict yourself?

Are Tottenham's Title Hopes Over After the MUFC...
philosofooty:
By Darshan Joshi, writing in Kuala Lumpur
A tilt at the title isn’t usually discredited in January, not least when the team that has meandered to the top of the standings have themselves dropped eighteen points over the course of 21 games (almost a point per game), but for one North London side, last night could have passed as Death’s sojourn to White Hart Lane.
No, he did...

Kindle, iPad, & Law Reviews
A recent short post on The Volokh Conspiracy noted that the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy recently announced a Kindle edition. I think this could be a brilliant idea if it is done right. Specifically: (1) the reader looking for more information or doing research should be able to quickly link from the text to the footnotes; (2) the table of contents should be hyperlinked; (3) the...

Cristiano Ronaldo tells Mario Balotelli to "talk... →
As a Manchester United fan it pains me every time I see Ronaldo wearing his Real Madrid kit but it’s hard to root against a player with so much skill, speed, and vision. Although he can be a showboat and is known for the occasional dive (http://bit.ly/Wo3TM), he has always seemed to respect his peers and never talk bigger than his game. Mario Balotelli, however, is the exact opposite. ...
The Sriracha Cookbook →
A couple of years ago I had a great meal in Philly at The Continental. It was a cheesesteak egg roll which was basically a deep-fried cheesesteak. The best part about it was the sriracha ketchup on the side. Now there is a cookbook centered around my favorite condiment. I need to get a hold of this.

My Top 5 Albums of 2010
Music helps me to relax, focus, get pumped up, etc. The following five albums were my favorite albums that were released in 2010 for various different reasons.
#1) The Roots - How I Got Over
This album was by far my favorite and most-played album of the year. Mostly known for its single “Dear God 2.0” featuring the Monsters of Folk, How I Got Over offers track after track of...
